The life, ministry, and message of John the Baptist.
If you ask the world, more is more. More money, more status, more _________. But in God’s economy, it’s the opposite of how the world thinks!
Jesus says, “the last will be first” (Matthew 20:16). Less is more.
Jesus says, “when I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Corinthians 12:10) Less is more.
Jesus says, “whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted” (Matthew 23:12). Less is more.
In God’s theology, less really is more. This is the message that comes from the life of John the Baptist. “He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30). From start to finish John the Baptist’s life had one purpose—a messenger for Christ. This is where we find out what life is truly about. Is that what your life is about?
